Photo – Nature – Everyday Life

Sunset in the forest

A photographer I admire have named all his posts on instagram “Conversation with the light”, I kind of like it. It says a lot of what you should do as a photographer. Earlier I didn’t pay too much attention to the light, I was more focused on the subject. After taking some photography classes this winter I have learned that how you use the light when you shoot can add more liveliness to the photo and makes it more interesting. I think I am constantly in a learning process (in a positive way. If you stop achieving new knowledge, life can become quite boring, I think).

Today I focused on the light before I found my subject. I think I am on my way to something.

My favorite spring flower

Finally spring is here 🙂

I remember when I was a kid my friends and I went out in the forest to pick Anemone hepatica (liver leaf) in small baskets. We had some biscuits and juice in our little back packs and after picking flowers for a little while, we had a picnic amongst all the blue and white flowers. Sweet childhood memories 🙂

Now I don’t pick them, I just take some shots with my camera and make, hopefully, beautiful pictures of them. I hope you enjoy the two photos of my favorite spring flower.

Have a nice week!

Mushrooms

The mushrooms on the photo in todays post groves on a tree in the forest in my neighbourhood. The tree where the mushrooms grow are dead, but every November these mushrooms flourish on the dead tree log. Together with the dark green moss I think this is a beautiful sight. Hope you enjoy it too.

Have a nice week!

Winter berry

The wild raspberries was quite small last year, probably due to a cold summer. When autumn arrived some of the berries still was clinging on to the branch on the raspberry bush and they still was during the winter. I can´t actually decide if I find the dead and dried out berries beautiful or just nothing to catch your eye. Anyway I captured it and turned the photo black and white and found it quite decorative.

Soon

Soon spring will arrive. The snow is slowly melting away, but still it is too much snow for spring flowers to blossom. This Easter we have had a lot of sunny days but it has been too cold for snow to melt, so I have to wait a little bit longer to go hunting for green leaves to pop or little spring flowers to grow. Well, the forest still have some beautiful dried leaf shivering in the sun to offer to a macro nerd. I am fascinated by the shapes and lines as they are curled up and all dried out. The sun shines so beautifully through the leaves and give them warm colors even though they are cold and quite dead.

Tiny ice sculptures

Now that the snow finally is melting and spring slowly takes over I have been hunting for little macro treasures in the forest. What I found was small ice sculptures making beautiful shapes as the snow melts.

Summer memory

Since the snow still keeps falling I find my self longing for spring and summer (sorry about repeating myself all the time ;-)). So today I found a photo from last summers holiday in France. A little street with lots of flowers in Cannes.

Have a lovely week!

Snowflakes

The snow keeps falling, there are no sign of spring yet. So while I am waiting for spring to arrive I tried photographing some snowflakes.  🙂

Snow

Underneath the beautiful snow lies the secret of spring, the secret of life.
