Photo – Nature – Everyday Life

Jardin le Chesnaie, Provence

Our two weeks in Provence went so fast. Coming back home to Norway was ok but the norwegian summer is not comparable to the french summer, that´s for sure.

We rented a big house with a rather big garden (park). The house rested under some big oak trees, which made the garden quite cool even though the temperatures were about 39/40 degrees celsius during day time. And the pool of course was a good thing for 8 over heated norwegians 😉

With the big garden around the house there was a lot of exciting things to explore for a photograph with a passion for macro-photography.

This post contains some pictures of the house and garden in St. Paul en Foret. Later I will post more about what I found in the garden and there will also be posts with photos from some of the lovely villages in the area of south-France and Provence.

I hope you enjoy the photos from our summer holiday!

Summer holiday

This will be my last post for a few weeks. Soon I am leaving Norway for a summer holiday in France (Provence). So with a picture of the lovely water avens I wish you a lovely summer!

Rain, rain go away

Today the plan was a little photo safari in a park with old, shabby buildings. Well, we started out well, we took a lot of shots of our dogs, some of the houses and of course I had to take some flower shots too. After that it started raining, well no surprise maybe since the last weeks has been quite rainy. We got soaking wet and had to go home much earlier than planned. Norwegian summer in a nut shell 😉 Have a nice week!

Nome (left) and Charlie (right) did some posing.

It was a lot of flies in the park just before the rain started.

Lilly of the Valley

In my little garden I planted Lilly of the Valley when we moved here, some years they did have some flowers and some years not. Two years ago I moved them to a different part of my flower bed. I thought they died because last year I could not find them. But now they are back with beautiful pale pink flowers (this is a pink variant). So this weeks picture is of the beautiful Convallaria majalis rosea.

Working ants

My peony have some visitors these days: ants. The are busy walking around on the buds and seem to be hard working. I tried to take some pictures of them.

It is time for a new week and to try to be a working ant too!

Afternoon walk

The weather was so bright and warm so before diner I went for a little walk with my dog, Charlie. I brought the camera because the afternoon sun can give some interesting light for macro photography. I did find a few little treasures.

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Mini trip to Amsterdam

I loved Amsterdam. It is a wonderful city and it is perfect for me because I am not very fond of going to different museums and other tourist attractions. My favorite thing to do is walking around and watch everyday life, relaxing on a little cafe and admire the architecture. Her are a few pictures from my mini trip to Amsterdam.

Amsterdam – bicycle

Visiting Amsterdam was fun. In Norway people use their bike for training and they have new fancy bikes. In Amsterdam the bikes are used for transportation and the bikes look quite old fashioned and they are so cool. The bikes are like jewelry and creates aesthetic scenes in the city.

Have a nice week!

May is here

Today was a wonderful monday, in Norway we have a day off every 1st of May. We went for a walk in the forest, the sun was shining and all of the snow that came last monday is now finally gone.

The sun was shining so beautifully between the trees:

And the third spring flower, wood sorrel, is blooming:

I did also find a pink variant of Anemone hepatica:

This week will be a short one because I am taking some days off. I will spend the next weekend in Amsterdam with one of my best friends. Hopefully I have some pictures to share when I get back!

Have a lovely, sunny week!
