Spring

Rain in May

I went for a walk in the forest after a rain shower the other day, hoping to find some flowers or moss with droplets (I just love droplets). The wood sorrel was in bloom and was a natural target for  a photo shoot.

Have a lovely week!

Sunset in the forest

A photographer I admire have named all his posts on instagram “Conversation with the light”, I kind of like it. It says a lot of what you should do as a photographer. Earlier I didn’t pay too much attention to the light, I was more focused on the subject. After taking some photography classes this winter I have learned that how you use the light when you shoot can add more liveliness to the photo and makes it more interesting. I think I am constantly in a learning process (in a positive way. If you stop achieving new knowledge, life can become quite boring, I think).

Today I focused on the light before I found my subject. I think I am on my way to something.

My favorite spring flower

Finally spring is here 🙂

I remember when I was a kid my friends and I went out in the forest to pick Anemone hepatica (liver leaf) in small baskets. We had some biscuits and juice in our little back packs and after picking flowers for a little while, we had a picnic amongst all the blue and white flowers. Sweet childhood memories 🙂

Now I don’t pick them, I just take some shots with my camera and make, hopefully, beautiful pictures of them. I hope you enjoy the two photos of my favorite spring flower.

Have a nice week!

May is here

Today was a wonderful monday, in Norway we have a day off every 1st of May. We went for a walk in the forest, the sun was shining and all of the snow that came last monday is now finally gone.

The sun was shining so beautifully between the trees:

And the third spring flower, wood sorrel, is blooming:

I did also find a pink variant of Anemone hepatica:

This week will be a short one because I am taking some days off. I will spend the next weekend in Amsterdam with one of my best friends. Hopefully I have some pictures to share when I get back!

Have a lovely, sunny week!

If you love a flower

If you love a flower, don´t pick it up.

Because if you pick it up it dies

and it ceases to be what you love.

So if you love a flower, let it be.

Love is not about possession.

Love is about appreciation.

Sunday walk

Finally all of the snow is gone and the paths are open for walking in the forest again. These days the forest are all dressed up in white, no, not snow, but the beautiful wood anemone covers all of the the ground. Soon all the trees in the forest are covered with green leaves and summer is just around the corner 🙂

In between there are still a few Anemone hepatica in bloom too.

Spring took a break

This Easter was rather cold and the weather certainly did not give the expected feeling of spring. Spring took a break and winter came on a visit.

Yesterday we went for a walk in the forest and it was snowing. It was a nice walk and we got the feeling of Christmas 😉

The spruce trees a long the path was all dressed up with ice taps and walking a long a little creek I found a tiny mushroom almost covered in snow.

Well now the Easter holidays are over and tomorrow it is back to work.

Have a lovely week!

Happy Easter Holiday

To days post consists of a few pictures i took in the woodlands today when I was out walking my dog in the rain. Just enjoying some days off.

Spring is just beautiful!

Happy Easter holiday!

Hazel (Corylus avellana)

It is so much exciting going on in the forest during spring. The other day I was out walking in my little neighborhood-forest when I came to think of the flowers of hazel. They are beautiful, dark pink and so tiny, the flowers are only 1-3 mm long. I decided to see if I could be able to find a hazelnut-tree with flowers. Well I did and I managed to take a photo of it too. But it is so difficult without a tripod, but I think it went out well.

Simple and beautiful!

Have a beautiful week and happy Easter holiday!
